Hey there!
In about an hour I will join a couple people to go to Saga. What is Saga, you may ask? Well, it is our school's cafeteria where everyone usually goes to eat and socialize each day. I feel like I live most of my life there because I have an unlimited meal plan. But this isn't a bad thing. I actually get to see people I don't normally see throughout my day here at school, and I just love all the funny conversations we have there! It's also kind of fun to people watch while you sit at Saga. Now you don't have quite as many cliches as you have in high school, but there do tend to be some groups that form at Saga. You have your sorority girls, your basketball players, your intramural teams, your nerds, your specific major people, your church people, and so on... I'm not saying that these groups are necessarily a bad thing. In fact, sometimes it's nice to be in a group that understands you and likes hanging with you. However, this does become a problem if you limit yourself to just one group.
It's been fun getting to know people here on campus. There are just so many different backgrounds and such here. The problem is figuring out where to devote most of your time. I love being involved with all the Christian groups here on campus. There's the BCM (Baptist Collegiate Ministries), Wesley ( The Methodist Group), and Campus Outreach (non-denominational, although they are mostly based in the Presbyterian Church). I suppose I'll have to choose soon which group I will be most involved in, but I just don't want to. I love being in the body no matter what denomination it is, unless, of course, they're not Biblically based.
Okay, get this. I just saw this commercial for psychics! What is this world coming to?! It was so calm, like they were selling a nice blanket or something. Not something evil and by nature wrong. This worries me when I see things like this. If this country doesn't turn soon, things are just going to continue to get worst and worst. I had a conversation with my English teacher once about homosexuals. He wanted to make sure I was "aware" of the situation and that I would probably come into contact with homosexuals throughout my college career. Like I didn't know this already. But it was an interesting conversation to say the least. Thanks to God, I was able to hold my ground even though I was at a great disadvantage talking to my professor. It was just so weird since he picked this out of a list of things from my research paper to talk about. He basically tried to tell me to "tolerate" it, but again, thanks to God, I was able to hold my own and actually come up with some good arguments. I love my God!:-)
I went to a corn maze last night and that was a lot of fun! I never lost my sense of direction, but we were stuck in the maze for awhile! lol. It was so cool being out in that field and looking up at the vast sky filled with stars! It amazes me to see all that God has created and know how truly cool all the stuff that you can't see is going on all around you! Chemical reactions, small animals under the brush, and all the inner things going on in your body... It's just so awesome, I can hardly comprehend it!
Well, I guess I'm going to get ready for dinner! Saga, here I come!
Peace to you all,
Keri Lynn
