Compromise

Hello!!!

What is it about college that makes people want to compromise so much? I find it harder and harder to stand up for what I believe because so many people are willing to give up their morals or beliefs in order to follow the crowd. Whether it be going to parties, drinking, cheating, sex, etc... There's also the small compromises that usually lead to the bigger ones. It can be something as small as watching a dirty movie or using an occasional cuss word. There's also the compromises we have in government. If you think about it, we never were a people who liked to be governed. The whole reason we are here at all is because a small group of people decided they wanted to practice their religion without the persecution involved in Britain. So why are we giving more and more power to the government??? Think about it. All the other countries whose governments have the most power almost never turn out well. However, we are a selfish people, and if giving more power to the government is getting us what we want easier, then why should it matter how much power we give them???

Being a Christian is not easy. I'm learning that more and more as time passes. It never seems to get easier. It gets harder. But that means I must learn to lean on God more and more. And the more I learn to trust in Him, the greater my faith grows. So in a way, the trials I face are a blessing, not a curse. True, I don't want to go through them, but if it means growing closer to the love of my life, then so be it. Prayer is a vital part in any Christian's walk. I am learning that as well. You have to keep the communication lines open if you wish to have a relationship with the God of the Universe. And the more I learn of Love, the more I can love others.

Please keep my roommate and myself in your prayers. I need all the prayer I can get!
