Hey guys!
Sorry it's been so long since I last posted a blog. (The last one was Joshua's birth... ha...) I'm in a weird stage of life where I'm not super busy, but at the same time I am very busy. Between taking care of two children under the age of three, our house, and church activities I have a lot of odd free time but also not... Like it can be hard to find time just to sit down at the computer and write, but I've been writing a lot on my phone lately because it's easier. I don't like having to stare at a screen, but it gives me the opportunity to write. Blog posts are different though because I can't post pictures in my blog till the end on my phone, so I'd rather do it on my computer. Long story short, that's why there hasn't been a lot of blog posts lately...
Aayla Update
Aayla is doing pretty good! Right now, we're cracking down on discipline and learning. I'm about to start small lessons with her during Joshua's morning nap time that will include simple songs, letters, and numbers. We have started reading daily again before nap time, and her vocabulary is starting to really soar! Her favorite phrases right now are, "So chewt (cute)!" and "Ew, gross!" She is such a little fashionista, and right now she loves her bows - where as the first year of her life was like pulling teeth to keep them in her hair! This little girl would also snack all day if she could! Carbs especially...
She is miss personality, and she rarely stops for pictures anymore. She has become really affectionate lately, and will give me a hug and a kiss after waking up almost every day! She loves to dance and sing! (Bless her, she unfortunately has mommy and daddy's skills in this department...) She's noticed squirrels, lizards, and other animals a lot lately. We're working on potty training, and hopefully mommy will get her act together so we can finish that soon... (Y'all I'm just tired thinking about it...) Hoping to start going back to the library soon for reading time and such. Anyone know of any free programs you think a music loving toddler would like?
Joshua Update
This boy is seriously one of the sweetest little guys you'll ever meet! He grins at almost everyone (unless perhaps you're wearing sunglasses...), and he laughs at the silly things his sister does! He's also getting way more vocal, and seems like he'll be a lot chattier than Aayla was at his age. He's also got mommy's tummy issues unfortunately... Reflux is definitely getting better, but poor guy is now fighting constipation... He's also been severely picky in the food department. I just got him to start eating squash and carrots! (Celebrations!) He is starting to gain more weight, and we've upped his meals to twice a day instead of once a day.
He is starting to like his walker. I know, I know, that's not great for their development in the walking department, but I feel like it's darned if you do and darned if you don't when it comes to motherhood. You're always go to come across criticism, so I will take it in spades. I do want to get him a saucer, but you know... hospital bills, groceries, etc. I also gotta keep my eye like a hawk on him so he doesn't fall down the steps... He's sleeping great! Usually has two naps during the day and sleeping eleven to twelve hours a night! Starting to play with blocks, and he loves toys that make music and light up! He thinks it's great when mommy dances and makes a fool out of herself!
JD Update
JD, in typical JD fashion, is working hard like he always does! He works so hard for his family, and I've loved seeing him become more and more of a leader in our family! You can tell he loves his family based off everything he does! He has a true servant's heart! Aayla and he can be thick as thieves, and they always have some sort of conspiracy going on! JD says he wants to teach history when we do start homeschooling officially, and I'm excited to see him at work!
He's been helping out his family a lot here lately since his father has stage four cancer. He's also been outside working a lot, much to his chagrin. (He hates the heat! lol) He's also had a bunch of tiny projects going on in the house - painting, moving furniture, organizing to name a few. Since our house is on the older side we always have projects to tackle. I help where I can, and I've been doing a lot of decorating and organizing myself. Even with the problems, I love our house! I'm so proud of JD and how hard he's worked to keep this house in tip top shape! I also love to watch him pray with Aayla before bedtime! He's a good daddy, and I can't wait to see him grow even more!
Keri Lynn Update
Boy oh boy what a month it's been! I feel like I've been sick for weeks... Fighting both an infection and a tough cold.. And it's still not over yet. Like, y'all, I just want to be healthy again. So prayers would definitely be appreciated! It's frustrating because I haven't been able to go to the gym, and I've been so slow about literally everything. It's definitely gotten better, but boy it's been tough! I'm starting to feel better, but I think I'm going to see a doctor in the next week or so. I've been to Urgent Care twice in the past month, and it's helped, but now I gotta crack down and see an OBGYN. Insurance has been a pain lately, so it's been tough to figure out what to do.
I have had a lot more time to write though, and I'm loving it! It feels so good to write again, guys! I've really missed it. It's been years since I've written purely for fun. I use an app on my phone called Wattpad. I've been writing fanfiction (not that kind of fanfiction though...), and I love to build off ideas of shows or games I've seen where I want to imagine more about their lives and adventures they would have. I've also got my own book with my own ideas in the works, but it's in the really early stages... I actually have over a thousand reads on one of my fanfics for Miraculous Ladybug, and it's gaining steam real fast. Here's some shameless self-advertisement if you want to read it... haha...

I also got to meet one of my internet friends last weekend, and it was awesome! I love my internet children, and I know this won't be the last time I see her! I hope to see many more of my "kids" soon too. Unfortunately some live super far away.
I'm also getting back on track with my quiet times and Bible Study! Feels so good to be back in the swing of things again! So many quotes from the current study I'm doing.Hopefully I'll feel good enough to head to the gym again next week! I've really missed it, and the weight gain stinks... If anyone has any ideas on what you'd like to read here on my blog, I'm all ears! I love to share stuff you guys like to read about. For those of you who read anything I write, thank you! Y'all are the best!
Peace to you all,
Keri Lynn
