The Final Countdown - 36 Weeks

Hello Everybody!

Sorry I've been MIA in the blog world for awhile! Lots going on getting ready for a new baby and going through all the changes that come with getting ready to be parents. It's really starting to hit, especially as my stomach starts to expand to the fullest and I feel her precious little feet and hands stretching and pulling my stomach and kicking my ribs! She also loves sugar and music, and she likes her space. (Possibly already an introvert?) I feel her precious little butt floating towards the top of my uterus, and people get a kick out of feeling that cute little butt! (Especially Grammy Johnson!) It's still bizarre though to know there's an ACTUAL baby in there. You would think since I'm carrying her it wouldn't be that weird, but I still feel like I'm going to be surprised when I see her for the first time. The nursery is on it's way, and once I'm over this little bug I have caught, everything should be finished and done within the week. I can't believe how fast time is flying!

It's on it's way! Just got some decals to put up and some more clothes to wash.

JD and I are packing the hospital bag today - so if anyone has any advice on what we should bring, please feel free to share! I love to get advice as long as it is out of kindness. Gotten a few of those unwelcome comments such as "you look ready to pop!" at week 30, and some strange looks. Unfortunately, I don't think people are used to seeing a nine month pregnant lady, and I am definitely curvy, so I knew I probably wouldn't be a tiny pregnant lady. My mom had the best advice when it came to talking to a pregnant lady. Just tell her "you look beautiful!" and leave it at that. I know I look huge, and sometimes my sassy-ness comes out and I give them the "I'm pregnant look??? No way!" I am learning to be gracious though, and I'm actually starting to find it funny now and use it as a way to start a conversation. Besides, I'm bringing another person into the world, and I can't wait to meet her!

Getting ready for the Glow Run 5k with my little Aayla! Don't worry, I power walked! JD, of course, got second over all with a very impressive time! (Did I mention he's my hero?)

I'm also loving being able to decorate our house for Christmas! We got our first Christmas tree and it's all decorated! Christmas always brings joy to my heart and a smile to my face! How can I not be joyful in the face of the birth of my Savior? Despite what's going on in your life at the moment, your heart can rejoice in the birth of your best friend. My project this month is to help a couple I know in Nepal get supplies for the wife's sewing ministry for women. If you want to contribute or have any ideas, please let me know! The husband's name is Kalu and his wife's name is Ruth, and he serves as a pastor while she serves the women in their community. I am inspired by their love for Jesus and for others in the villages surrounding them. They are truly doing the work of God, and I want to help in any way I can! Even if it's not in time for Christmas, I want to give them a gift that will truly help.

JD and I at Lowe's getting our first Christmas tree!

Had my last day of work with my kiddos about a week and a half ago, and I miss those precious little faces! It's been weird not seeing them every day, and it's even weirder preparing for my own little baby! It's one thing to take care of two wonderful kids, and it's another to be a parents yourself. I am praying that God will continue to prepare my heart and JD's heart to become a mommy and daddy. It's another adventure in life, and we're so excited to see what God will do through us. We also have so many supportive and loving friends and family, and this girl is going to be well loved!

I will try to keep y'all more updated! Can't wait to share the joy of our little bundle with you guys in hopefully a few weeks!

Peace to you all,
Keri Lynn
