13 Weeks and Counting!

Hello All!

As we turn the corner of three months of marriage, we have yet another exciting event to celebrate! Another Davis is emerging early January! We are so excited to see how God will use this amazing miracle that is life, and we can't wait to see what kind of child we'll have. What will be his/her personality? Will our baby accept Jesus early in life or never at all? Will he/she be wired like JD or more subdued and quiet like his/her mom? We should be able to find out the gender of our baby in about seven more weeks!

We got to see our baby for the first time on ultrasound today! (I'll be posting  a pic on FB and on the blog later.) It brought tears to my eyes to see our baby growing so wonderfully inside of me, and I laughed in joy when I saw those little hands and legs move right there in front of me! (Or technically inside of me.) The baby is right on target, and we got all our dates correct, so we should have the baby right on schedule. Something JD and I discussed later while waiting on the midwife was how people could ever have abortions, especially after seeing our little one moving and looking like an actual human being on the ultrasound screen! This baby is dependent on me for survival, but that doesn't discount the fact that he/she has his/her own blood type, own heart rate, own DNA, need I go on? Sex is a beautiful thing, and a lot of these problems of unplanned pregnancy would be significantly less if people just waited until marriage. It wouldn't make having a child any less expensive (except that you have a hubby/wife to help support you too), but you would have a lot more options and hope in that case. (If you are married to a good man that is.) Let's just say, if you do it God's way, a lot of pain is going to be bypassed. I count that as a good thing. :)

One of my only problems with the whole baby process is how corrupted and expensive medical care has become. We're in such a sue happy society that doctors and nurses make patients pay an huge amount just to bring a child into this world! Not just babies, but health problems too! I love our doctors at Southern Crescent, but it's just ridiculous how bad the medical world has become when it comes to money. No doubt doctors work hard and should get paid more than a "normal" desk job, but with the price of school and corruption on both sides (including the the government!), high prices can't seem to be avoided. Does anyone else see a problem with this? Or is it just me?

For random news, I'm glad Hobby Lobby won at the Supreme Court. I keep hearing about FIFA World Cup, but don't have cable. JD and I are sad that Game of Thrones Season 4 is over. I did run Tough Mudder this year (apparently being about two weeks pregnant by this point), and it kicked my bum! I need to figure out a different exercise schedule because the one I have now just isn't working, and I'm getting nauseous in the morning right now... VBS week was awesome, and I had one of my fourth graders come to accept Jesus! (Praise God!) I ate an entire footlong sub from Subway today. Luckily I haven't gained any more weight though since my first appointment with baby. I've been having bizarre dreams lately. I absolutely adore cat shaming and dog shaming pics! (Cats almost never look guilty and dogs almost always look guilty!) We've been going on Field Trips with my kiddos! We're also learning about numbers and continue to learn to read, write, and go to the library. We also love science experiments! And hanging out with the animals at their house! (A horse, seven chickens, two dogs, and a cat!) If anyone wants to hang out please let me know! We'll work it out, and I'm missing me some girl time! ;)

Peace to you all,
Keri Lynn
