Hey Everyone!
I have seven days until I leave for Japan! I'm so excited! I will get to see old friends, teach English, work with kids (one being a Down Syndrome girl), do some mission work, and go on fun trips like to the mountains and to Disneyworld Japan! I'll be staying with four host families, and I'll be working with the church my choir stayed with last year. The people there are so kind and generous. I feel so undeserving of their love, but they give so openly. I can only hope to become as generous as they have and will be! Prayer would be highly appreciated , and if any of you feel led, money is definitely welcome as well!
Less than one percent is Christian in Japan, and their suicide rate is one of the highest in the world! The Christians there are so loving and giving, you feel like part of the family whenever you meet them. That's the big picture I would like to see God do for Japan. They are such a tight-nit culture. You can tell what age group everyone is in just by looking at what they're wearing. Their culture is so different, and yet they are still people with deep emotions and needs. My heart feels connected to them in a very deep way, and I think this is because of God. I can't wait to see how He'll use me while I am there!
I am also officially done with my freshman year of college! Yay!!!! I finished with all A's this semester, for which I am very thankful for! It has been a good year, and I know God has grown me through this time of learning to be independent. I've been challenged with new ideas, I've had debates, I've experienced new emotions; and yet through it all, God has been faithful and brought me through it! I am now at home enjoying my short stay before I am off to Japan! Keegan has grown so big since I last saw him! He is such a sweet baby. He's cooing and giggling so much now! He also stands up if you hold him on your lap. His smile is contagious, and he laughs when Kathleen sings her rendition of Baby by Justin Bieber! haha.
I am definitely going to keep up with my blog throughout the summer during my stay in Japan. I will keep ya'll updated on the latest news, and I can't wait to share with you what God is doing with our Christian brothers and sisters thousands of miles away! :)
Peace to you all!
Keri Lynn
