Konnichiwa!!!
Three more days until Japan! This is so exciting! I can't wait to see how God will use me in Japan! Speaking of the number three, I must say it is my favorite number. Jesus rose in three days, there were three crosses, three is used repeatedly in the Bible and in Folklore, there are three parts of God (Son, Father, Holy Spirit- all equal!), etc. If I have to pick a number between 1 and 10, I always choose three. If it's between 1 and 100, I pick thirty-three. I just like the number three. :) Seven is good too. The number of completion. I just how numbers can be so symbolic. Forty, six, One hundred forty-four thousand, fifty, etc. God can use numbers to declare His glory! He is so creative! Math is so precise and consistent (Usually-it depends on the math sometimes, and even then, there's only a few answers that could work), just like God is consistent. Physics blows my mind, just like God does! :) He makes everything work through numbers and matter, plus the constant, which is Himself. Doesn't that just make you want to praise His awesome and glorious power?
Anyways, I've been preparing for Japan as you all well know. I've been trying to come up with ideas to teach the kids conversational English. I was just talking with Yuko, the woman who basically runs the school, and I told her about one of my ideas. I was thinking how fun it would be to read a book, like the Chronicles of Narnia, and discuss it afterwards. I wouldn't pick a book that is too hard to understand, but one that will also challenge the kids. Remembering how my mom read to me, it would be great to read to them and act out all the voices while be clear and distinct. I could also leave it open for them to ask questions in case they don't understand a word or what is happening in the story. If you all have any ideas, I would be pleased to listen!
I'm excited to be going and learning more about their culture! I just want to love on them and be a servant to them. They have given me so much, and I want to give them much in return. I also plan to host a girls night, which the Japanese don't have, and give them a good dose of American fun! :) If any of you have any ideas as to what I can do with them, please shoot them my way! I will also gladly take any advice you all have to offer!
Thank you all for your support! Peace to you all!

ok,
I loved the "Winnie The Pooh" books especially when there is Eeyore who can be done in such a humerous way...the story where it is his birthday and the pooh wants to give him a honey pot(but eats the hunny first.
Erica Valladares had a "Oscars" night for her daughter's birthday..complete with red carpet and husband as 'escort' to the arriving ladies. everyone dressed formal and you could serve sparkling.....something or other. How about "Young Victoria" for a movie/ Put on English subtitles or leave as is and have them listen. i had heard as a child she was a believer. you could research that and then present the Gospel
I like the Winnie the Pooh idea a lot! Unfortunately I don't think I have any of those books here at home... But maybe I can find some in Japan? Maybe.
I like the Oscars idea too! I haven't seen Young Victoria yet, but I have seen the BBC Victoria and Albert! That was good, but it didn't really mention Victoria's faith. But that would be another good choice. :)
