Conversations

Hey everyone!

I had an interesting conversation with my biology teacher today. I asked him how he thought the world got here. He said that he thought it got here by there being some sort of supernova and than it would pull things in by gravity forming the sun and the planets. Sounds reasonable enough. Okay, now how did everything else get here is what I wanted to ask. I did ask him how did DNA get here. He replied that there are many theories, several of which can be proven. And what got me, and I couldn't think of anything to reply to this, was that he told me that there was no evidence supporting creation. What! Is what I wanted to reply. I can think of tons of things now that I could have said. Second law of thermodynamics(I sound smart there don't I?:-), the feeling of right and wrong, the atmosphere, the reason there are so many fossils in the same time era(The flood anyone?), and so on! And when I asked him if things could "age" faster if say there was a climatic event he sort of pushed that aside. He told me scientist believe in uniformitarianism, which I know I had read about in my Christian science book not to long ago. The big "U" word means that things have been operating at the same rate throughout earth's history. But I've read things that are totally the opposite. Such as the supposed thousands of years old stalactites and stalagmites found in caves all over the world. It was found that they can grow at a rate much faster then scientist today think they do.

Anyways, now that I've gone into all this I'd like to get your opinion on the matter. I'd also love to hear suggestions on what I can talk to my biology teacher about, and how to go about it.
