Well, we only have a little less than two weeks till we have the 20 week ultrasound to see how baby is growing and what gender our little one will be! I'm both excited and nervous! Whatever my preference is, the highest preference is that our baby is healthy and growing strong! I have future uncles and aunts (some who aren't even biologically related) ready to spoil this little one to pieces! Thank you everyone for you sweetness and your excitement! It means a lot to JD and I. :) We are ready to see what this next year will bring! Getting ready for sleep deprivation, feeding a little one, changing our little one... But we are preparing most for the joy and blessing our little one is going to be! The best things in life are always the hardest it seems. We are praying that we are godly parents even in our selfishness and pride. There is a lot to learn, so here we go!
My family came over for a Galaxy Quest Movie Night! Laughed our heads off at points. :)
I read a recent article about a person who saved their virginity till marriage and wished they hadn't. Basically her church made purity the only thing that mattered! "If you have sex before marriage, you're going to hell!" No? Really??? How about all the other sins that separate from a perfect God? If that's the only thing holding us back from hell, the Bible is dead wrong! Even though she saved it till marriage (which is a good thing), she felt dirty and unclean even after the fact because her identity had been so wrapped up around waiting to have sex till she was married. The boys weren't encouraged to do this at all. No, her whole view of herself was based on if she had had sex or not and that it was an innately dirty thing. Do you know how much this breaks my heart? No wonder she wishes she had just went ahead and had sex! Why is sex sometimes taught as a dirty thing? In the right context, it's a beautiful thing! Something special between a husband and wife! Your identity should be hidden in who God is, not who you've slept with or if you are a virgin! Why do you think Jesus took mercy on the adulterous woman who was brought before Him? He knew the men around her were hypocrites and were way to quick to condemn her to hell. What of the man who slept with her? He was equally as guilty! Our identity is not wrapped in the mistakes we have made (Thank GOD!) but rather what He has done in us. This woman's story mentioned above is so sad because she had the right idea but was taught to think her identity was in her sexuality, not her spirit. If any young ladies are reading this, please take heart! You are infinitely special to our savior no matter what you have done. (Romans 3:23 For ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God! Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.) Just read Psalm 139 and let the wonderfulness of your God soak to your very marrow! You are loved more than you could ever understand!
Here's one of the godly young women I know! I love to see how God has been working in her life!
There's a lot of things I could write. A lot of opinions I have. However, in the end, it matters more what I am doing to glorify God than I am right or wrong. This is a hard lesson to have learned. Part of growing up is deciding how you're going to handle a decision no matter how you feel. Are you going to react out of anger or out of love? Are you going to feel defeated by mere man or uplifted by the God who created you? Are you going to win at all costs or are you going to just let it go? In reality, people are going to be drawn to how you live your life and if you follow the words you say or not. There is no such thing as a perfect person, and it's okay to be wrong. (Heaven knows I've been wrong!) I'd rather please my God and have people think I am idiotic or a moron than try to please everyone. I'm also going to fail in this regard. And that's okay! God has been too good to me, so I will keep fighting the good fight!
Trying my hand at gardening some! Hope it goes well! :)
For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; 15 and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15
Peace to you all!
